AAI has paid only the initial fee for getting suitability report from ICAO. AAI after getting the same may submit a proposal for Greenfield airport in Sriperumputhur tothe ministry.Since there is no proposal at present with the ministry the reply was like that.Mumbai cross run way in the airport was opened only last year. Now there is a proposal for a new airport in Mumbai. Only when the present construction is completed the Centre may take up a new airport proposal. It is in the hands of politicians.
Any recent news!!?? Two days back, while house hunting, came across a builder selling independent houses in Gerugambakkam. On querying about the acquisition issues, he informed that the govt. has started giving building approvals, and NOCs for construction. The expansion plan is likely to be dropped 'silently'. The real estate company from whom we bought our land in G'bakkam, when enquired yesterday, also confirmed that this is true. He further says we are very likely to get the 'patta' for our land within this month itself. We have Registered the land and got the encumbrance certificate already, but patta was delayed due the acquisition. Looks like some light at the end of the tunnel. Please share any latest news you may have.
